Summer!!!

We went on a mini vacation this last weekend to Wyoming/Montana/Idaho! We drove over 700 miles and camped in a gorgeous place in Wyoming! Can you believe mom and dad actually slept in a tent? They were laughing cuz the tent was too small for them, but I don't think they've ever slept in a tent since they've been married! This is where we camped- the kids are sacrificing their skin to the mosquitoes for a pic.

Here are the kiddos in Cody, Wyoming. We stopped here for dinner and to stretch a little. There was music playing in the park across the street that was worse than Phobe's off of Friend's music! It sounded like old ladies screeching and trying to outsing the others. It was BAD! This is also the kids eating lunch on the back of the truck!

Something none of us have ever done was go over Beartooth Pass- a HUGE pass in Wyoming/Montana. This was a big part of our trip- a ton of driving, but was so beautiful. I highly recommend to anyone reading this- you must see. However, wait for the first freeze, cuz we got eaten alive by mosquitoes. As soon as you stepped out of the car you were covered in black! It was horrible trying to eat breakfast! Here are the kiddos and my dad on the summit. The view behind doesn't do it justice at ALL! Here we are at the tourist store by the summit- the top of the world!! We didn't even bother getting Weston out of the car cuz he would just get eaten alive!

We left the pass and drove to Cooke (mom called it Cookie until Luke finally corrected her!) Wyoming. We went into Yellowstone National Park this way- a way none of us had ever been before! In the park, we saw a ton of animals- 3 bears, a moose, tons of elk, deer, and antelope, and even an eagle! We went and soaked our feet at fishing bridge and saw some awesome scenery! The "hot pockets" were our last stop in the park! It is a tradition that my boys have with their dad to always stop and see in the park. Carson started calling them the hot pockets when he was younger, and they stuck!!

This was not part of our mini vacation, but another one we took this summer. That shows how bad I am at staying caught up, hu? Here we area at Shoshone Falls -do you think our family likes waterfalls or what? Along with Mesa and Cave Falls, this one is a tradition to visit at least once a year. This year we so lucked out and went to Twin for the McCowan Reunion- it was fun to see some of you again! Anywhoo, the water was running so high that the falls were awesome! Some times we have gone when no water was going over the falls! BTW- Colton IS in the pic., he's just hiding behind my fat rolls!

This last pic. is of our family at Mesa Falls. (I really should have been the one taking the picture!) We went here on Father's Day- Luke's choice. It was fun, but, again, a lot of driving and mosquito's!
