What I wish I knew before Weston . . .

Here are the top ten things I wish I knew before baby #4 was born:
  1. I wish I would have not leaked so much milk before he came. He eats so much that I may someday be in short supply!
  2. I wish I knew that Luke and the kiddos would become magically sick and not be able to help out at all. This reminds me of when Luke got his tonsils out a week after Carson was born!! However, this time it's a sore throat and cold!!!
  3. I wish I would have known that labor would last two days, not two to three hours! I may have tried to sleep better starting from the time I got preggers until now!
  4. I wish I would have known that I would give birth to a month old Foster child rather than a newborn that I'm used to. Maybe my neighbor's daughter can use the newborn clothes and diapers I bought!
  5. I wish I would have known that Brooklynn would be so possessive of her brother. She actually kicked the nurse who was doing his PKU because she was making him cry! However, last night at t-ball another baby was next to Weston in his car seat. HIS sister walked up and asked how we were going to be able to tell which one was theirs!
  6. I wish I would have known that after a week I would still look 5 months preggers. Last night at the ball park, TWO different people asked me when I was due. Looks like this time I really have my work cut out for me!!
  7. I wish I would have known how many diapers it would cost me in less than an hour for our biggest pooper. So far the count is eight, but it could go higher than that if he keeps it up!
  8. I wish I would have known that even though I just had a baby, I'm still required to drive a tractor, move pipe, and play on Luke's softball team within the next few weeks. I would have asked for a doctor's note, but then again, he's sick and can't do anything on his own, right?
  9. I wish I would have known that I FINALLY didn't have to watch the shaken baby video at the hospital before coming home. So far I've watched it five times- three with the kiddos and two from college classes. I was looking forward to #6 to see if anyone had made a better choice, or if they still hadn't learned from their mistakes.
  10. I wish I would have known that my love really could grow for another kiddo in our family just as fast as it did for the first three. It's amazing how much I feel blessed each time I hold him in my arms, or watch a member of the family hold and interact with him!!

A little brag. . .

Yeah, I'm proud of my boys. Last night was their second coach pitch and t-ball games. Colton did so well, he actually caught the ball a few times and, if he could have, would have gotten a few kiddos out! (You don't get out in t-ball). He also hit the ball out of the infield every at bat!
Now, for the brags. Carson did just as well in coach pitch. He never struck out, and even made a double play- he caught a line drive that was somewhat to him on first and tagged the kid running to second!! Just 1/2 an inning later, he hit a home run!! (It was actually a grand slam, but he doesn't understand the concept, yet, so we say home run!) It was so far into the outfield, that no one got to it until he was rounding third!!! He actually plays first base all the time, so he's just proud when he makes outs. So far, the other team usually only makes an out if a kid from our team strikes out. However, Carson's team is pretty good at throwing them out at first! I think I've got some ball players in my family. Obviously they take after their daddy!!!
I will take pictures next game. They just got their uniforms yesterday, and it was way too hot to take pics.!!

He's FINALLY here!!

Well, he finally decided to join our family! Weston Scott Foster was born on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 at exactly 12:00 p.m.! He is 8 lbs. 14 oz. and 22 3/4 in. long!! Compared to my other kiddos, he's an ogre!!! (Yes, we LOVE Shrek at our house!) He really is so much bigger than any other kiddo, by 2 lbs.!! He is almost out of newborn diapers, which is all I have, so we squeeze him into them for the time being!

Labor was horrid this time, especially compared to the others. Before I almost didn't have to do anything except show up to the hostpital and they were born a few hours later, but this one gave me a run for my money!! I went into labor sometime durring the night on Monday, and was in labor all day Tuesday. Around 9:00 p.m., we went to the midwife who checked me. I was only at a 4, and my contractions were still 5 min. apart. We went to mom and dads to sleep, but I never slept. Around 3:30 am on Tues, we went to the hostpital. My contractions were now 3-4 min. apart, and I was at a 5 to 51/2. I labored until around 9:30, got an epidural (which did NOTHING for my back labor and hip that was why I got the epidural). Around 10, I started pushing. Weston was up so high that I pushed for 2 hours- hard pushing. Come to find out that he was O.P. (posterior) and his head was HUGE (seriously an inch bigger than any of my others!!), so I would have a hard time just getting him to drop off my hip and even get through everything. He finally did- with Luke and my midwife's encouraging words, (plus his face and head are BRUISED!!) I about fainted from exhaustion yesterday-twice! Seriously so glad he's here, we're home, and he's healthy!! By the way- he peed twice today and once yesterday, so they think his kidneys will be ok. We go back in about 3 weeks for an ultrasound just to make sure, but so far looking so good!!!! His brothers and sisters are so proud, so is daddy! I love watching all of them with him!

John Wayne = Scott?

My brother has had a hard time finding something he enjoys outside of the house lately, and his P.O. told him he really needed to get out. We finally found a compromise. He wants a horse. Why? Crazy kid! We have about eight for him to ride, and so my grand idea started. Yesterday he came out and rode for about an hour. Colton got on after him, and they both had a good time (or so I think)!- Don's tell Brooklynn, she wanted to ride, but fell asleep in the car on the way. Luke wanted Scott to wear chaps and a hat, but Scott couldn't even do up the chaps- they were too small. As for the hat, it was raining and windy, so he settled for his baldness! He did really well for not riding in a long time. He rode our oldest horse, who didn't want to do any more than paw at the ground and walk in a circle!! Next week Luke plans on taking him up to the mountains to ride through the cows we are taking out to pasture! (The joke's on Scott- does he seriously think he can ride in the mountains for that long?)

No, I didn't ride yesterday, and yes, I'm still preggers! I went to the midwife yesterday and she said his head is still too high. I am dialated to a 1, but whoopee! She doesn't think I'll have him this week at all, so I go in next Monday. If there is little or no progress, she'll talk about induction. I ALWAYS have to go at least a week over. Miserable! I just want to be out of the hospital for Grandma Ruth's 90th Birthday party next Saturday!
