I forgot. . .

I'm so sorry to all of you who have been waiting to see what baby Foster #4 is . . . it a BOY!! Thanks for all the e-mails and reminders. I really didn't mean to keep you in suspense for so long, I seriously forgot!! He does already have a name (and despite Colton, we're not naming him Joker), however, we're keeping this one kinda quiet (unless you ask any member of the family under 9!!) Jensyn Kay will have to be the first girl calf we have this year (so she can be named after me!!)
Well, my midwife called the other day, everything looks great on the little monster, EXCEPT his kidneys. I go in next week to talk about a couple other tests and another ultrasound. We're praying it was just a funny picture that he took. Even if something is wrong, there is a lot they can do now days, or so I was told.
Oh yea, one more piece of info: I'm due on May 13th, so I'm about 20 weeks. (Further along than I thought, less than my midwife thought, however, since I'm measuring at around 23 weeks! Yeah, I'm getting big!!)
P.S. Colton won, the little monkey will reside in his John Deere room for awhile!! (He pumped his fist when we were told it's a boy. I seriously think he's the only one who had anything riding on the sex of this kiddo!!)

Our new house

Many of you already know of our famous new home that we are in the process of finishing, but I'll update the rest of you. First of all, let me tell you that this was NOT my idea. However, I did a little walk through this weekend, and am feeling so much better! (And, I realized I didn't take any "before" pics. of the house!!)
Okay, question. Have you ever been inside of a milk barn? Seriously, where the cows come in on both sides and someone stands down in the middle and milks them? I have-tons of times when I was a little girl. Well, now I'm living in one!! (Not yet, actually, but I will be by the first of the year!!)
Luke's boss from Utah has a milk barn in front of a barn barn in the middle of two fields in Downey. (Good luck to all of us who have to drive through the two fields in the dead of winter. Hopefully we're following our new tractor!!) Anywhoo, Luke and Cory got this wild idea about us moving closer to the animals (cows, pigs, sheep, and horses) however, there really wasn't a nice place to live in Downey for sale. So, two smart minds got together and came up with an idea that would be out of this world! (I thought for months now that they were out of their minds!!)
Our bedrooms are literally where the cows get milked. The place where the milker person stands is the hallway!! We only have four rooms (this was designed before baby #4 was in the picture, but the rooms are large enough that kiddos can share!) I will, however, have a TON of storage/shelving in this place, along with a great laundry room. The kitchen is the smallest room in the house, so hopefully I'll get good ideas to make that work. My counters are gorgeous, though! The family/living room is a fair size with awesome french doors in front! From the outside, it still looks like a barn, but inside it's finally starting to come together! Luke has a couple little things to sheet rock, plumbing in the bathroom, kitchen stuff to put together, and then mud & tape and paint and flooring! Right now I'm working on curtains and throw pillows. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm keeping with my mustard yellow/lime green/brown in the family room, but any input would be awesome! Hopefully I'll get pics so you can all get a good laugh! Oh, yea, we couldn't get the indian slate in in time, so for our fireplace, we just went with a dark tile. Crappy, but oh well!
(Side note: I can't seem to find any pics. on the internet of a dairy barn, so hopefully our final pics. will be good enough to run your imagination!!)

Stitches

Warning: Yucky pics ahead! Colton got stitches last night after flipping over his handle bars on his bike. He was trying to pop a wheelie in front of Roger's house, and the bike didn't agree with the trick! My heart sunk a couple of times-the first being when Carson came home and said Colton had an accident and Mrs. Gunter was bringing his home! Ahh! The only thing she said when she handed him to me is "It's not pretty." NO, it wasn't!! I knew right away we needed stitches, so I called Luke and mom to watch the kiddos. Colton did pretty well at the hospital. Jake and Elaine came up and sat with us, which made Colton feel kinda special. His doctor kept giving his chocolate, which made his face dirtier than it already was! In total, he got seven stitches and a huge scrape above and below the cut! Poor kiddo!

Carson's baptism

Sorry this post took so long to get out to you guys! Carson got baptised on the Saturday after Thanksgiving!! The steak changed it to this weekend for the other three families that were getting baptised, but it still worked out for us. This one picture is of Carson and Roger Gunter. Two other girls got baptised with them, but they were from Inkom and the boys didn't really know them. Look how much taller Carson is than Roger!! (He TOWERED over all the other kids!) This other pic. is of the kiddos! Brooks wouldn't put down that purse! (Notice she also kept sneaking into the pic. of Luke and Carson!!

Oh, baby

So, it turns out that there's a lot riding on this gummy bear who is rapidly growing inside of me and already kicking to get out (maybe he/she doesn't like all the candy bars and diet coke). Luke is busy building the rest of our house (MORE ON THAT JOKE LATER), but hostility and confusion are starting to take place in our home. First, let me update you on what's going on. When I went in for my eight week visit to the doc., we heard a heartbeat. Yep. So, we're thinking that I'm further along. Here is where the first mistake comes in. I went to a midwife. Please don't get me wrong. I love what a midwife is all about and stuff, but she doesn't believe in ultrasounds until 20+ weeks just to make sure everything is growing ok and so we just estimated. So, for the last 10+ weeks, (and especially more lately now that I'm starting to look preggers), everywhere I go, people are asking when I'm due. My reply: "I dunno." Then they all look at me like I'm stupid, so I have to go into my schpill on how I'm not sure until my ultrasound (which, by the way, will be scheduled tomorrow at my appt.) Even family is having a hard time understanding.
Mistake #2: While Luke is busy sheet rocking the rooms on our new house, the boys are fighting. Who's room is going to be who's? There is only enough room for 4 bedrooms, so someone is going to have to share. The problem? Both boys want the baby (if it's a boy) to be in their room so they can have the biggest room! (heaven forbid they share a room and the baby gets his own! Colton even "made me a deal that even though we have a name for a boy, he would call him "JOKER" if he could be in his room!" What a deal!!
